Established in 2001 and headquartered in Midtown Atlanta, HomeOwners Advantage is the marquee of Five Star Property Management.
HomeOwners Advantage helps clients simplify their lifestyle with custom property and association management solutions. We manage residential, commercial and retail properties throughout the southeastern United States.
Our residential property management division operates in multi-family condominiums and single family homes in urban and suburban markets. HomeOwners Advantage currently manages over 10,000 residential units providing services that are second to none.
Over the past twenty-three years, HomeOwners Advantage, LLC has become a recognized leader in mixed-use condominium management. We have invested in tools and established procedures and techniques that have allowed us to control costs without compromise to building operations, services or aesthetics.
From 2001, when we began managing residential condominiums, through today we have led the market on cost control and have kept homeowner dues stable. We do this by leveraging technology and stadard operating procedures while enhancing the living experience.
Over the past twenty-three years, HomeOwners Advantage has created an organization of seasoned & highly qualified business professionals that have consistently led the market in areas such as resident satisfaction, utility management, building aesthetics, preventative maintenance, resident services, and expense management. Our team members are recognized in the industry as leaders in high rise management and our residents have enjoyed the highest levels of services with some of the lowest fees in the industry.

Our Team

Rich Hagan

Chief Executive Officer
Rich is a seasoned executive with more than 40 years of experience in global business, leveraging his expertise to drive growth and operational excellence for HomeOwners Advantage and its clients. He founded the company’s residential management division and, over the past two decades, has positioned HomeOwners Advantage as a leading authority in urban high-rise management across the Southeast. During his leadership, the company has achieved significant advancements in people, processes, and technology, fostering balanced and sustainable growth.
Before joining HomeOwners Advantage, Mr. Hagan served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Hagemeyer North America. His career also includes executive roles at Radiant Systems and The Coca-Cola Company, as well as a managerial position at Ernst & Young’s consulting practice, where he advised numerous Fortune 500 companies. He brings deep expertise in finance, operations, information technology, and strategic planning.
Mr. Hagan has contributed his insights as a member of the Board of Advisors for the University of Massachusetts’ College of Management, the Board of Advisors for The OnTarget Company, and the Board of Directors for FilterSense Corporation.

Jason Welchel

Chief Operations Officer
With nearly 30 years of experience in the property management industry, Jason Welchel is a seasoned leader known for his strategic vision and operational excellence. Jason leverages his extensive background to drive growth and efficiency across the organization.
Jason’s career began with a decade at Post Properties, where he excelled in both team management and asset disposition, honing his skills in maximizing property value and optimizing operations. His tenure at Post Properties laid a strong foundation for his expertise in managing high-end property portfolios.
Jason holds an MBA from Mercer University, which has equipped him with a robust understanding of business strategy and leadership. His adeptness in financial management and team motivation has been instrumental in his success, making him a pivotal force in the property management sector.
Jason’s commitment to excellence and his dynamic approach to leadership continue to drive innovation and success in the industry.

Uriel Uribe

Chief Growth Officer
Uriel is a strategic operator and growth-focused executive dedicated to driving expansion, performance, and long-term success. At HomeOwners Advantage, he leads the company’s growth strategy across multiple markets by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative, best-in-class management solutions. His expertise spans operational oversight, budget optimization, capital improvement planning, financial stewardship, and designing tailored management strategies that enhance property values and community success.
A forward-thinking industry professional, Uriel is skilled at guiding associations through the complexities of property management while ensuring compliance, financial health, and meaningful community engagement. With deep knowledge of various markets throughout the US, Uriel aims to position HomeOwners Advantage as the premier management partner for associations seeking expertise, innovation, sustainability, and best-in-class customer service.
Uriel holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from the University of Texas and a Master Certificate in Revenue and Strategic Management from Cornell University. He has also earned multiple industry-related licenses and certifications, further reinforcing his leadership and technical expertise.

Natalie Wong

Chief Financial Officer
As a highly experienced professional with over 34 years of experience in accounting and real estate. She brings a wealth of expertise from her work with Fortune 500 companies and Big 4 consulting firms, including audit experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers and financial analyst roles at Heller Financials, Siemens Energy, and Vanity Fair.
Natalie leads our in-house accounting team and collaborates closely with clients’ audit partners to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Natalie holds both a BBA and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Additionally, she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Georgia

Jennifer Shealey

Director of Human Resources
With over a decade of experience in human resources, Jennifer is instrumental in shaping workplace culture, driving talent development, and leading strategic HR initiatives. She has held diverse roles within HR, including corporate trainer, recruiter, and HR generalist, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics.
Prior to joining HomeOwners Advantage, Jennifer served as an HR Manager in the manufacturing industry, overseeing HR operations across the state of Georgia, which strengthened her expertise in employee engagement, policy development, and organizational growth. She is passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that supports both employees and the organization’s success.
Jennifer holds an Interdisciplinary Degree from Valdosta State University and a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Webster University.

Elliot Penso

Qualifying Broker
Before becoming the Qualifying Broker for HomeOwners Advantage over 20 years ago, Elliot served as the Leasing Director for the State of Georgia from 1977 to 2006, working under five governors and retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.
Elliot has been a licensed broker since 1973. As a second-generation Atlantan, he has witnessed the city’s remarkable growth into the vibrant hub for work, play, and living that it is today.
